Influencers Awards Indian Ocean 2026: Celebrating Creativity Across the Indian Ocean Islands
The Influencers Awards continue to strengthen their regional footprint. For the seventh edition of the Influencers Awards Mauritius and the second edition of the Influencers Awards Indian Ocean, organisers are promising an event that goes beyond recognition, creating a platform where digital creators from across the region can connect, exchange and celebrate their cultures.
Launched in Mauritius in 2020 and expanded to the wider Indian Ocean region in 2025, the awards shine a spotlight on content creators and influencers from Mauritius, Réunion Island, Madagascar and other neighbouring islands. This year’s edition confirms the growing appeal of the initiative, which is becoming an important showcase for regional talent.
A Growing Wave of Regional Participation
At the close of registrations on 22 May, jury members faced the challenging task of selecting nominees from a large pool of candidates, with a particularly strong participation from Madagascar. The Content Creator category attracted the highest number of entries. Mauritius accounted for 43% of registrations, followed by Réunion Island with 37% and Madagascar with 20%. These figures highlight a more balanced regional representation compared with the previous edition, when Mauritian participants largely dominated the competition.
Nominees have been selected across a range of categories, including Art & Entertainment, Content Creator, Fashion & Beauty, Travel, Fitness & Wellness and Food. Beyond the numbers, the enthusiasm expressed by nominees on social media reflects the importance of this recognition. From Réunion Island to Madagascar and Mauritius, participants have shared their pride in representing their island and being part of an initiative that transcends geographical boundaries.
Rallying Support for the Region’s Favourite Creators
Another major development this year is the composition of the jury. For the first time, it brings together personalities from both Mauritius and Réunion Island, further reinforcing the event’s inter-island dimension. This collaborative approach aims to celebrate the diversity of voices, experiences and creative expressions found across the region.
The coming weeks will feature a series of activities organised with the event’s partners throughout the islands. Public voting will open during the week of 17 August, before the jury reaches its final decision. In the meantime, followers are encouraged to support and follow the nominees’ journeys on social media.
The awards ceremony will take place on 29 August 2026, promising an evening that celebrates not only digital influence but also the cultural richness, creativity and connections that unite the islands of the Indian Ocean.
