Constance Hotels & Resorts celebrates its talent and focuses on training to build tomorrow's leadership

They dared to go further and made a difference. Twenty-five Mauritian employees of Constance Hotels & Resorts were honoured on Thursday 29 May 2025 at a graduation ceremony held at the Deer Hunter restaurant at Constance Belle Mare Plage. They successfully completed the BRIGHT Leadership Development Programme and the COMET management programme, two flagship initiatives run by the Constance Hospitality Training Centre.

The BRIGHT (BRIdging the Gap through Holistic Training) programme is designed to support employees in their transition to positions of responsibility through an eight-month structured training programme. Leadership, service excellence, innovation, change management and communication are among the key areas covered. BRIGHT Level 1 is aimed at supervisors, while Level 2 targets middle managers.

‘The programme has transformed me. I have learned to listen, adapt and take initiative. It’s no longer just a job, it’s a contribution,’ says Arun Seetah, outlet supervisor at Constance Prince Maurice since 2019.

Training is also a lever for innovation. Yashdev Ramloll, also from Prince Maurice, distinguished himself by creating an innovative application, winning the award for the best Bright Level 2 project, as well as the most impactful project. Yohann Coutee (C Mauritius, Palmar) achieved the highest academic score.

Among the winners of COMET (Constance Management Experience Training), a one-year paid hotel management training programme for young graduates, Wadie Girgis (C Mauritius) was crowned Star Performer 2024 and Best Project 2024 for the quality of his work.

‘These programmes are much more than just training courses. They reveal vocations, talents and leaders. It is a source of immense pride to see our employees develop with passion and professionalism,’ emphasises Vishal Roopun, Head of Constance Academy.

With its ‘With Constance Be More’ campaign, the group is affirming its long-term commitment to continuing education, well-being at work and professional development. It’s an ambitious strategy that, beyond words, is shaping a new generation of tourism leaders in the Indian Ocean.
