They have worked with experienced chefs to prepare for this prestigious competition. They have a theme to follow, including a Mauritian dish to prepare using products available in Egypt. It’s a challenge, but we’re confident. The products are already known, so the participants are familiarising themselves with them and trying to master everything. I’m convinced that they’re going to give an excellent performance. It’s a pleasure for us to help them perfect their skills, » added Chef Coopen.
The chef also thanked the local authorities, particularly the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA,) for their vital support, stressing that these partnerships enable Mauritius to shine internationally. The support of the MTPA and its sponsors plays a crucial role in the richness and recognition of Mauritian gastronomy on the global scene. « It’s a team effort across the members and the MTPA, and we’re confident in the training we’ve provided for our young people, » he reveals.
At the same time, the MCA announced several other landmark events, including the presentation of Ruffest, a culinary congress bringing together chefs from Africa and the Middle East.
