Un nouveau chapitre pour The Bay Club at Anahita

  • Sugar Beach
  • Long Beach
  • La Pirogue
  • Ambre
  • The Bay Club at Anahita

Sunlife Strengthens Its Footprint in Southern Africa with a High-Impact 2026 Roadshow

From 9 to 14 February 2026, Mauritian hotel group Sunlife successfully conducted its annual roadshow across South Africa and Namibia, reaffirming its strategic commitment to the Southern African market.

Led by resort General Managers alongside Ramesh Jeenarain, Managing Director of World Leisure Holidays and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of Sunlife, the delegation engaged with nearly 300 FIT and MICE travel agents across five key cities:

  • Cape Town
  • Durban
  • Pretoria
  • Johannesburg
  • Windhoek

This long-standing initiative continues to play a pivotal role in reinforcing Sunlife’s brand positioning within one of Mauritius’ most important source markets.

A Strategic Market for Mauritius Hospitality

For the past 15 years, Sunlife has consistently organised this regional roadshow to promote both its resorts and the broader Mauritian tourism offering. South Africa remains a key feeder market for Mauritius across leisure, wedding, incentive and corporate segments.

These face-to-face engagements allowed travel professionals to gain a deeper understanding of the group’s evolution, product enhancements and strategic direction — equipping them with stronger sales narratives and competitive positioning tools.

Rebranding, Renovations and a Renewed Sustainability Vision

Several major announcements marked the 2026 edition.

A New Identity for The Bay Club at Anahita

The rebranding of The Bay Club at Anahita generated strong interest among agents. Positioned as a contemporary lifestyle address on Mauritius’ east coast, the resort now embraces a refreshed identity aligned with evolving premium travel expectations.

Strategic Renovation Projects

Upcoming renovation plans were also unveiled, underscoring Sunlife’s commitment to maintaining world-class standards while anticipating shifting luxury travel trends.

A Structured Sustainability Strategy

Another highlight was the presentation of Sunlife’s new sustainability roadmap by Clency Roméo, appointed Chief Sustainability Officer on 1 January 2026.

The strategy reflects a structured and measurable approach to responsible hospitality, responding to the growing expectations of international travellers and trade partners alike.

Nearly 50 Years of Mauritian Hospitality Expertise

Sunlife’s legacy dates back to 1976 with the opening of La Pirogue, its first hotel. Today, the group manages five flagship properties in Mauritius:

  • Sugar Beach
  • Long Beach
  • La Pirogue
  • Ambre
  • The Bay Club at Anahita

The portfolio also includes Anahita Golf Club and the award-winning Île aux Cerfs Golf Club, further strengthening its appeal to premium leisure and golf clientele.

A Proactive Commercial Diplomacy

Beyond numbers, the roadshow embodies Sunlife’s commitment to proximity, relationship-building and long-term market engagement. In an increasingly competitive Indian Ocean landscape, maintaining visibility and strategic dialogue with key trade partners remains essential.

For Mauritius, such initiatives contribute directly to destination competitiveness and sustained growth within priority source markets.
