Maurice a décroché trois récompenses aux World Travel Awards qui se sont tenus dimanche dernier à Nairobi au Kenya. La destination a remporté le titre de Indian Ocean’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination 2022, Indian Ocean’s Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination 2022, et Indian Ocean’s Leading Wedding Destination 2022. Une consécration qui vient confirmer la bonne réputation de Maurice comme destination touristique dans l’océan Indien.
« Nous sommes ravis de la reconnaissance de Maurice en tant que destination insulaire de l’océan Indien par la WTA et nos pairs de l’industrie dans les trois catégories, car ce sont tous des domaines de notre mandat touristique où nous nous efforçons d’être les meilleurs. Après près de 18 mois de restrictions de voyage et de confienement pendant la pandémie de Covid-19, nous sommes extrêmement reconnaissants que le tourisme mondial soit à nouveau en hausse, alors que nous accueillons des touristes du monde entier à Maurice », déclare Arvind Bundhun, directeur de la Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA).
« Pour le secteur du tourisme de l’île, recevoir tous ces honneurs dans les différentes catégories au plus haut niveau par la WTA est un accomplissement significatif, et un hommage à notre secteur industriel résilient et en plein redressement », dit Arvind.
On note, par ailleurs, que la compagnie d’aviation nationale, Air Mauritius, a décroché deux titres, celui d’Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline Brand 2022 et d’Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline – Economy Class 2022. Double récompense également pour Mautourco sacré Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination Management Company 2022 et Indian Ocean’s Leading Tour Operator 2022. Trois autres récompenses sont tombées dans l’escarcelle mauricienne : Indian Ocean’s Leading Luxury Villa Resort 2022 pour Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa, Mauritius, Indian Ocean’s Leading Hotel Brand 2022 pour Constance Hotels & Resorts et Indian Ocean’s Responsible Tourism Award 2022 pour Mauritius Conscious Travel.

Mauritius wins World Travel Awards
Mauritius won three awards at the World Travel Awards held last Sunday in Nairobi, Kenya. The destination won the title of Indian Ocean’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination 2022, Indian Ocean’s Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination 2022, and Indian Ocean’s Leading Wedding Destination 2022. This recognition confirms Mauritius’ good reputation as a tourist destination in the Indian Ocean.
“We are delighted with the recognition for Mauritius as a leading Indian Ocean island destination from the WTA and our industry peers across the three categories, as these are all areas within our tourism mandate where we strive to be the best. After almost 18 months, travel restrictions and lockdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are extremely grateful that global tourism is once again on the rise, as we welcome tourists from across the globe to Mauritius,” says Arvind Bundhun, Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA).
“For the tourism sector on the island to receive all these accolades in the various categories at the highest level by the WTA is a significant achievement, and a tribute to our resilient and recovering industry sector,” says Arvind.
We also note that the national airline, Air Mauritius, has won two titles, that of Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline Brand 2022 and Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline – Economy Class 2022. Mautourco also won two awards, Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination Management Company 2022 and Indian Ocean’s Leading Tour Operator 2022. Three other awards fell into Mauritius’ lap: Indian Ocean’s Leading Luxury Villa Resort 2022 for Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa, Mauritius, Indian Ocean’s Leading Hotel Brand 2022 for Constance Hotels & Resorts and Indian Ocean’s Responsible Tourism Award 2022 for Mauritius Conscious Travel.
