La compagnie aérienne Vistara s’aventure dans l’océan Indien en ajoutant Maurice sur sa carte de destinations. La star Indienne du transport aérien mettra à disposition 5 vols hebdomadaires entre Mumbai et Maurice à partir du 26 mars 2023 ce qui va aider Maurice sur le marché indien encore très lent.
Cette annonce a été faite le mercredi 8 février par Steven Obeegadoo, Premier ministre adjoint, ministre du Logement et des terres, et ministre du Tourisme lors d’un dîner de gala organisé par la Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) à Delhi. Il a saisi l’occasion pour exprimer sa gratitude en vue de cette collaboration tout en soulignant : « Parmi nos marchés émetteurs de touristes, l’Inde était le plus lent avec un taux de récupération d’environ 50 %. Les vols de Vistara viendront compléter ceux d’Air Mauritius au départ et à destination de l’Inde. Ils fourniront la capacité dont nous avons tant besoin sur cette route alors que nous faisons passer les échanges entre l’Inde et Maurice, y compris le tourisme, à un niveau supérieur ».
À noter que Vistara a récemment mis en service ces avions A321 LR, le seul modèle qui offre le choix de la classe Premium Economy, en plus de la classe affaires et de la classe économique. La montée en altitude promet une merveilleuse expérience et de belles surprises car c’est la compagnie aérienne indienne la mieux notée sur Skytrax et TripAdvisor en plus d’être vainqueur de plusieurs Best Airline awards. Également louée pour la propreté de ses cabines de classe mondiale et le respect de normes de sécurité élevées, elle ouvre progressivement ses plateformes en ligne afin de lancer les réservations pour cette nouvelle route.
Bientôt 70 appareils
Devenant le douzième pays parmi les choix internationaux de Vistara, Maurice profitera sans aucun doute des allers-retours entre les deux territoires. Pour Vinod Kannan, CEO de Vistara, en plus d’être une destination touristique populaire, la République de Maurice est un important centre d’affaires qui abrite de nombreuses institutions financières internationales. Compte tenu des liens culturels, commerciaux et bilatéraux étroits entre l’Inde et l’île Maurice, cette nouvelle route contribuera à la croissance du trafic entre les deux pays. « Nous sommes ravis d’annoncer l’ajout de l’île Maurice, […] à notre réseau mondial en constante expansion », déclare-t-il.
Vistara, est une coentreprise (51 : 49) entre Tata Sons Private Limited et Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA) qui a lancé ces opérations en 2015. La compagnie aérienne dispose d’une flotte de 53 appareils mais vise d’ici la mi-2024 les 70 avions, dont 53 A320neo et dix A321neo pour le moyen-courrier, et sept Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner pour le long-courrier. Elle a transporté plus de 42 millions de voyageurs depuis le début de ses opérations. Figurant parmi les 20 meilleures compagnies aériennes au monde, Vistara s’annonce comme étant une nouvelle proposition qui ravira les Mauriciens cherchant à explorer la divine culture de la Grande péninsule et les Indiens voulant profiter de notre paradis insulaire.
With five weekly flights, Vistara helps Mauritius to tap the Indian market
The airline Vistara is venturing into the Indian Ocean by adding Mauritius to its destination map. The Indian air transport star will provide five weekly flights between Mumbai and Mauritius from 26 March 2023 thus helping Mauritius on the Indian market, the slowest amongst our issuing markets.
This announcement was made on Wednesday 8 February 2023 by Steven Obeegadoo, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Housing and Lands and Minister of Tourism at a gala dinner organised by the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) in Delhi. He took the opportunity to express his gratitude for the collaboration while stressing, « Among our tourist-sending markets, India was the slowest with a recovery rate of about 50%. Vistara’s flights will complement Air Mauritius’ flights to and from India. It will provide much-needed capacity on this route as we take trade between India and Mauritius, including tourism, to the next level.
It is worth noting that Vistara has recently introduced these A321 LR aircraft, the only model that offers the choice of Premium Economy class, in addition to Business and Economy class. The climb to the top promises a wonderful experience and some nice surprises as the airline is top-rated Indian company on Skytrax and TripAdvisor as well as being the winner of several Best Airline awards. Also praised for its world-class cabin cleanliness and high safety standards, it is gradually opening its online platforms to launch bookings for the new route.
70 aircraft by mid-2024
Becoming the twelfth country among Vistara’s international choices, Mauritius will undoubtedly benefit from round trips between the two territories. According to Vinod Kannan, CEO of Vistara, in addition to being a popular tourist destination, the Republic of Mauritius is an important business centre and home to many international financial institutions. Given the close cultural, commercial and bilateral ties between India and Mauritius, this new route will contribute to the growth of traffic between the two countries. « We are delighted to announce the addition of Mauritius, [.] to our ever-expanding global network, » he says.
Vistara is a joint venture (51: 49) between Tata Sons Private Limited and Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA) which launched these operations in 2015. The airline has a fleet of 53 aircraft but is targeting 70 aircraft by mid-2024, including 53 A320neo and ten A321neo aircraft for medium-haul, and seven Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft for the long-haul. It has carried more than 42 million passengers since it began operations.
