Pour la sixième année consécutive, Sun Resorts organise la SUNCARE Charity Golf Competition. Cette année la compétition se déroulera le samedi 17 septembre à l’île aux Cerfs Golf Club. Ce tournoi de golf caritatif se déroule sur 18 trous en formule scramble en équipe de 4. Plus de 80 joueurs sont attendus et tous les bénéfices seront reversés au Sun Children Cancer Fund.
Pour cette nouvelle édition, de nombreuses entreprises ont répondu présent à l’appel de dons et de sponsoring. Une vente aux enchères avec de fabuleux lots sera organisée pendant le déjeuner. Depuis 2008, Sun Resorts soutient financièrement l’unité pédiatrique de cancer à l’hôpital Victoria. L’année dernière, ce tournoi avait permis de récolter Rs 1,6 million. Cette somme a servi à la mise en place de plusieurs projets essentiels pour soulager les familles et accompagner au mieux les enfants.
Ainsi le transport pour les enfants ayant des difficultés à se déplacer pour leurs soins est financé par Sun Resorts à travers un partenariat avec Link to Life. Les soins d’enfants plus vulnérables, et dont les parents n’ont pas les moyens de leur faire bénéficier des meilleurs traitements à l’étranger sont également pris en charge. Pour Noël, des tablettes éducatives leur ont été offertes comme cadeaux.
Cette année, l’argent récolté servira principalement à la remise en état du bâtiment et de son toit. Car, après deux ans de restrictions sanitaires, le suivi de la maintenance des lieux n’a malheureusement pas pu s’effectuer correctement.

Créé en 2008, le Sun Children Cancer Fund a réalisé bon nombre d’actions afin de soulager les maux dont souffrent ces enfants, mais aussi de leur apporter tout le soutien nécessaire durant leur combat contre la maladie. Ainsi, en partenariat avec l’hôpital Victoria, le Sun Children Cancer Fund a financé la construction d’une salle toute équipée pour le traitement des enfants cancéreux (Sun Children Cancer Ward). Il s’agit encore aujourd’hui de la seule salle d’hôpital dédiée aux enfants atteints de cancer à Maurice. Chaque année, une centaine d’enfants profite des facilités de cette salle.
Ile aux Cerfs hosts the Suncare Charity Golf Competition on 17 September
For the sixth consecutive year, Sun Resorts is organising the SUNCARE Charity Golf Competition. This year the competition will take place on Saturday 17 September at the Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club. This charity golf tournament will take place over 18 holes in a scramble format in teams of 4. More than 80 players are expected to participate and all profits will be donated to the Sun Children Cancer Fund.
For this new edition, many companies have responded to the call for donations and sponsorship. An auction with fabulous prizes will be organised during lunch. Since 2008, Sun Resorts has been financially supporting the paediatric cancer unit at the Victoria Hospital. Last year, the tournament raised Rs 1.6 million. This amount was used to set up several essential projects to relieve the families and provide the best possible support for the children.
For example, transportation for children who have difficulty travelling for their care is funded by Sun Resorts through a partnership with Link to Life. The care of more vulnerable children, whose parents cannot afford the best treatment abroad, is also covered. For Christmas, educational tablets were given as gifts.
This year, the money raised will mainly be used to refurbish the building and its roof. After two years of sanitary restrictions, the maintenance of the building has unfortunately not been able to be properly monitored.

Created in 2008, the Sun Children Cancer Fund has carried out several actions to alleviate the suffering of these children, but also to give them all the support they need during their fight against the disease. In partnership with the Victoria Hospital, the Sun Children Cancer Fund financed the construction of a fully equipped ward for the treatment of children with cancer (Sun Children Cancer Ward). It is still the only hospital ward dedicated to children with cancer in Mauritius. Every year, about 100 children benefit from the facilities of this ward.
