Du 27 au 28 juin 2025, le Sugar Beach à Flic en Flac vibrera au rythme de la danse latine à l’occasion du Strictly Sugar Latin Festival, un événement unique mêlant compétition, spectacle et passion.
Dans le cadre enchanteur de la côte ouest mauricienne, ce festival invite amateurs et professionnels à s’exprimer sur scène à travers les danses latines : Salsa, Zouk, Tango, Cha Cha, Kizomba… tous les styles sont les bienvenus dans un esprit d’ouverture, de créativité et de partage.
Des invités de prestige : Chris Py & Laly
Le festival accueillera en invités d’honneur Chris Py & Laly, duo français de Kizomba à la renommée internationale. Chris Py, danseur et chorégraphe, compte à son actif deux titres de Champion du Monde (World Latin Dance Cup 2024, Africadançar 2014) et deux titres de Champion de France. Il enseigne et performe dans les plus grands festivals internationaux depuis plus de 12 ans.
À ses côtés, Laly, danseuse formée au classique et au cabaret, s’est révélée sur la scène afro-latino en 2021. Ensemble, ils remportent le championnat du monde de Kizomba en 2024, et partageront leur talent et leur passion avec les participants du festival.
Une compétition ouverte à tous
Le Strictly Sugar Latin Festival est accessible à toute personne de plus de 18 ans, avec trois catégories pour valoriser tous les profils de danseurs :
- Rising Stars : Amateur Local
Pour les danseurs mauriciens non professionnels qui souhaitent faire leurs premiers pas en compétition. - Shooting Stars : Élite Locale
Pour les danseurs mauriciens expérimentés prêts à faire rayonner leur technique et leur prestance. - All-Stars : Catégorie Internationale
Une scène ouverte aux talents du monde entier pour des performances de haut niveau.
Un jury de passionnés
Les performances seront évaluées par un jury composé de professionnels et d’amoureux de la danse : Chris Py & Laly, Stellio Grenouille, Jayce Seebaluck, Clive Grégoire, Terence Nagamootoo et Joy Moustache.

Sugar Beach Hosts the Strictly Sugar Latin Festival
From June 27 to 28, 2025, Sugar Beach in Flic en Flac will come alive with the vibrant rhythms of Latin dance at the Strictly Sugar Latin Festival — a dazzling event that blends competition, performance, and pure passion.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Mauritius’ west coast, this festival welcomes dancers of all levels and celebrates every Latin style: Salsa, Zouk, Tango, Cha Cha, Kizomba, and more — in a spirit of openness, creativity, and cultural exchange.
Special Guests: Chris Py & Laly
The event proudly features international Kizomba stars Chris Py & Laly from France. Chris Py is a world-renowned dancer and choreographer with two World Champion titles (World Latin Dance Cup 2024, Africadançar 2014) and two French national championships under his belt. With over 12 years of experience, he runs his own dance school in the south of France and travels the world sharing his expertise.
Dancing alongside him is Laly, a classically trained and cabaret dancer who entered the Afro-Latin dance scene in 2021. She quickly rose to prominence, and together with Chris Py, they claimed the 2024 World Latin Dance Cup Kizomba title.
A Competition Open to All
The Strictly Sugar Latin Festival is open to everyone over the age of 18, offering three exciting competition categories:
- Rising Stars: Local Amateurs
For non-professional Mauritian dancers ready to step into the spotlight for the first time. - Shooting Stars: Local Elite
For experienced Mauritian dancers who bring precision, charisma, and passion to the stage. - All-Stars: International
A global stage welcoming dancers from around the world for high-level performances and cultural exchange.
A Jury of Experts and Enthusiasts
Participants will be judged by a panel of professional and passionate dance figures including Chris Py & Laly, Stellio Grenouille, Jayce Seebaluck, Clive Grégoire, Terence Nagamootoo, and Joy Moustache.
