Le Jardin botanique de Pamplemousses accueille en ce moment une exposition d’art unique, marquant le 125e anniversaire de naissance de Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (SSR). Placée sous le thème « Legacy Exposition – Honouring SSR through Art, History and Nature », cette initiative est le fruit d’une collaboration entre le SSR Botanical Garden Trust (SSRBG) et ACA (Action pour la Créativité Artistique).
Une exposition hommage
Le public est invité, jusqu’au 2 octobre à découvrir 21 œuvres d’art réalisées par des artistes mauriciens, chacune interprétant la vie, les valeurs et l’héritage de SSR. L’exposition met également en lumière le rôle historique et culturel du Jardin de Pamplemousses, tout en célébrant sa biodiversité exceptionnelle.
L’inauguration s’est tenue le 18 septembre 2025, en marge de la cérémonie de dépôt de gerbes au Samadhi de SSR, en présence du Premier ministre, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, et de plusieurs dignitaires.
L’art au cœur de la nature
Le 20 septembre, un atelier artistique intitulé « Peinture Dans la Nature » a permis à 30 enfants de s’exprimer à travers le thème « Flowers of SSRBG ». Encadrés par des artistes locaux, les jeunes participants ont donné libre cours à leur créativité, tandis qu’un live painting était également proposé au public.
Cet atelier a été rendu possible grâce au Rotary Club de Pamplemousses, tandis que la promotion et le marketing de l’exposition ont bénéficié du soutien d’Ivorink Creative House Ltd.
Une célébration réussie
L’événement a rencontré un franc succès, offrant aux visiteurs une atmosphère apaisante, des moments de partage artistique et une réflexion sur l’héritage national. Cette collaboration entre le SSRBG Trust, ACA et le Rotary Club de Pamplemousses a permis de rendre un hommage artistique et mémorable à SSR.

The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden (SSRBG) is currently hosting a unique art exhibition to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (SSR). Held under the theme “Legacy Exposition – Honouring SSR through Art, History and Nature”, this initiative is the result of a collaboration between the SSR Botanical Garden Trust (SSRBG) and ACA (Action for Artistic Creativity).
An exhibition of tribute
Until 2 October 2025, visitors are invited to discover 21 artworks created by Mauritian artists, each interpreting the life, values, and legacy of SSR. The exhibition also highlights the historical and cultural significance of the Botanical Garden, while celebrating its exceptional biodiversity.
The official launch took place on 18 September 2025, during the wreath-laying ceremony at SSR’s Samadhi, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam and other dignitaries.
Art at the heart of nature
On 20 September 2025, an art workshop entitled “Peinture Dans la Nature” brought together 30 children, who expressed their creativity through the theme “Flowers of SSRBG”. Guided by local artists, the young participants explored their artistic skills, while a live painting session was also presented to the public.
This workshop was made possible thanks to the Rotary Club of Pamplemousses, while the marketing and promotion of the exhibition were supported by Ivorink Creative House Ltd.
A successful celebration
The event proved to be a success, offering visitors a soothing atmosphere, artistic expressions, and moments of reflection on national heritage. The collaboration between the SSRBG Trust, ACA, and the Rotary Club of Pamplemousses resulted in a memorable artistic tribute to the SSR.
