Chaque 19 août, la Journée mondiale de la photographie célèbre l’art de capter l’instant, d’en révéler l’élégance et l’émotion. À cette occasion, le Sugar Beach propose une exposition inédite intitulée « Une invitation au jeu intemporel », entièrement dédiée au croquet.
Cette collection de vingt clichés retrace à la fois l’histoire de ce sport raffiné et les moments marquants des tournois organisés sur les pelouses du Sugar Beach depuis deux ans. Entre passé et présent, les images témoignent de l’élégance et de la convivialité d’un jeu qui a trouvé, ici, un écrin unique.
Car au Sugar Beach, le croquet se vit comme un véritable art de vivre. Dans un décor de carte postale, entre palmiers et océan, les parties deviennent des rituels empreints de sérénité, où précision et plaisir se conjuguent avec naturel. Le resort a même réinventé la tradition avec son Crazy Croquet, une version audacieuse et ludique qui fait partie de la Come Alive Collection, la sélection d’expériences exclusives imaginées par Sunlife.
En janvier 2024, les pelouses devant le manoir Sugar Beach accueillaientt la première édition de la Sugar Beach International Croquet Cup, réunissant passionnés et champions du monde entier, dont une équipe mauricienne. La deuxième édition, tenue au printemps 2025, a confirmé l’attrait international de l’événement en couronnant une nouvelle fois la Britannique Jenny Clarke.

Un rendez-vous attendu, qui se tiendra du 15 au 20 mars 2026.

This collection of twenty photographs retraces both the history of the sport and the highlights of the tournaments hosted on the lawns of Sugar Beach over the past two years. Blending heritage and modernity, the images showcase the elegance and conviviality of a game that has found a unique home on the Mauritian coastline.
At Sugar Beach, croquet is more than a pastime — it is a true art of living. Against a backdrop of swaying palms and the ocean breeze, matches unfold as elegant rituals where precision, finesse, and pleasure meet. The resort has even reimagined tradition with its Crazy Croquet, a playful and audacious version of the classic game, now part of the Come Alive Collection, Sunlife’s curated selection of unique guest experiences.
In January 2024, Sugar Beach hosted the inaugural Sugar Beach International Croquet Cup, bringing together enthusiasts and champions from around the globe, including a Mauritian team.
