Après avoir ouvert fin août, le Shangri-La Le Touessrok se renforce avec la venue depuis le 1er septembre de Gregory Coquet comme directeur général. Ce fils du sol, aujourd’hui âgé de 41 ans, aura pour mission de consolider et d’accroître la réputation du Shangri-La Le Touessrok, Mauritius comme l’un des leaders de l’hôtellerie de luxe de l’océan Indien.
Premier mauricien à avoir dirigé le Royal Palm du Beachcomber, Gregory Coquet rejoint aujourd’hui l’autre grand groupe hôtelier historique mauricien, Sun Limited. Il arrive avec une vaste expérience tant à l’international qu’à Maurice. Grand professionnel doté d’un sens incontestable du service, il maîtrise les codes du luxe à la perfection.
Passionné du luxe
Gregory a commencé sa carrière en France avant de mettre le cap sur la Suisse où il a peaufiné son savoir-faire dans les secteurs de la restauration, des ventes et du marketing et au service Banquets. Après plus d’une dizaine d’années passées en Europe, Gregory retourne vers son île natale et rejoint le monde hôtelier du luxe, ce qui l’a toujours passionné. Ainsi, il passe quelques années comme directeur dans deux hôtels avant d’intégrer le Royal Palm du Beachcomber en 2016 comme directeur général adjoint puis directeur général après neuf mois.

Gregory Coquet appointed as new GM of Shangri-La Le Touessrok
After opening at the end of August, the Shangri-La Le Touessrok has been strengthened with the arrival of Gregory Coquet as General Manager since 1 September. This son of the soil will have the mission of consolidating and increasing the reputation of the Shangri-La Le Touessrok, Mauritius as one of the leaders of the luxury hotel industry in the Indian Ocean.
Gregory Coquet was the first Mauritian to manage Beachcomber’s Royal Palm and now at the age of 41 years joins the other major Mauritian hotel group, Sun Limited. He comes with extensive experience both internationally and in Mauritius. A great professional with an unquestionable sense of service, he masters the codes of luxury to perfection.
Passionate about luxury
Gregory started his career in France before moving to Switzerland where he honed his skills in the catering, sales and marketing and banqueting departments. After more than ten years in Europe, Gregory returned to his native island and joined the world of luxury hotels, something he has always been passionate about. Thus, he spent a few years as a manager in two hotels before joining Beachcomber’s Royal Palm in 2016 as assistant general manager and then general manager after nine months.
