Depuis sa création, le CIEL Ferney Trail s’est imposé comme bien plus qu’une simple compétition sportive. Chaque édition met en lumière des projets à forte portée sociale et environnementale. En 2024, plus de Rs 500 000 avaient été attribués à trois initiatives :
- l’autonomisation des femmes et la préservation de l’environnement par l’agriculture durable ;
- la promotion du sport comme outil d’encadrement social pour les jeunes ;
- et le don d’une joëlette à l’association Rando Trail et Nature (RTN) afin de permettre aux personnes à mobilité réduite de participer à des randonnées et événements.
En 2025, l’événement qui se tiendra le 13 septembre sur les circuits habituels de Ferney, poursuivra cette dynamique en soutenant de nouvelles actions d’autonomisation, réaffirmant l’engagement du trail envers la solidarité et la durabilité.
Un engagement fort pour le développement durable
Le respect de l’environnement est au cœur du CIEL Ferney Trail. Les organisateurs privilégient une approche écoresponsable : pas de packs de course jetables, eau disponible aux fontaines pour remplir ses propres gourdes, et t-shirt uniquement proposé à l’achat afin de réduire l’empreinte carbone.
Le domaine de Ferney est lui-même un véritable laboratoire du développement durable : Ferney Agri-Hub pour l’agroécologie, projet Farm Living avec maisons bioclimatiques, et production agricole « farm to fork » qui valorise la proximité entre culture et consommation.
Le Village du Trail, installé dans l’enceinte de l’ancienne usine de Ferney, incarne cette atmosphère conviviale et écoresponsable : espace de partage, animations, massages, déjeuner mauricien gratuit, et le très attendu Kids’ Corner animé par Sunlife.
La Sunlife 5 km Fun Run : l’esprit festif du trail Parmi les courses emblématiques de l’événement, la Sunlife 5 km Fun Run reste un rendez-vous incontournable. Accessible aux sportifs comme aux amoureux de la nature, cette épreuve attire aussi bien les familles que les enfants dès 6 ans. Chronométrée pour les plus jeunes, elle combine performance, amusement et convivialité. En fin de journée, une remise de prix viendra récompenser les participants avec de nombreuses surprises offertes par les partenaires.
Le Sun Kids Club au cœur de la nature
Véritable valeur ajoutée à l’événement, le Sun Kids Club by Sunlife recrée l’ambiance unique des hôtels de la marque en pleine Vallée de Ferney. Dès 6h du matin, les enfants de 6 à 12 ans sont accueillis gratuitement dans un espace spécialement aménagé.
Pris en charge par une équipe qualifiée, ils profitent d’un programme d’activités ludiques et éducatives : jeux, château gonflable, tatouages au henné, ateliers nature, maquillage… Un déjeuner leur est également offert, pour faire de cette journée une fête à part entière.
Ce concept innovant permet aux parents de courir l’esprit léger, tandis que leurs enfants vivent une expérience sécurisée et enrichissante au contact de la nature.

Since its inception, the CIEL Ferney Trail has been much more than a sports event. Each edition highlights projects with strong social and environmental impact. In 2024, more than Rs 500,000 were donated to three initiatives:

In 2025, the event which will be held on the 13th September on the usual tracks of Ferney, will once again support new empowerment initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to solidarity and sustainability.
A Strong Commitment to Sustainability
Environmental care lies at the heart of the CIEL Ferney Trail. The organization prioritizes eco-responsible practices: no disposable race packs, free water available at refill stations for personal bottles, and T-shirts sold only as an option to reduce the event’s carbon footprint.
The Ferney estate itself is a model of sustainability: the Ferney Agri-Hub for agroecology research, the Farm Living project featuring bioclimatic homes and responsible agriculture, and a farm-to-fork production approach that celebrates local terroir and proximity between growers and consumers.
At the center of it all, the Trail Village, set within Ferney’s historic factory grounds, radiates this eco-friendly and festive spirit: pre-race gatherings, post-race celebrations, sponsor giveaways, photo booths, prize-giving, massages, and the much-loved Kids’ Corner by Sunlife.
The Sunlife 5 km Fun Run: Family, Fun, and Nature Among the highlights of the event, the Sunlife 5 km Fun Run remains a favorite. Welcoming both athletes and nature lovers, it is particularly popular with families and children aged 6 and above. Timed for young participants, it combines performance, discovery, and fun. At the end of the day, winners will be celebrated with a prize-giving ceremony full of surprises and gifts from partners.
The Sun Kids Club: A Natural Playground
One of the most unique features of the event is the Sun Kids Club by Sunlife, which brings the spirit of the brand’s family-friendly resorts to the heart of the Ferney Valley. From as early as 6 a.m., children aged 6 to 12 are welcomed free of charge into a dedicated space.
Supervised by experienced and qualified Kids Club staff, they can enjoy a full program of fun and creative activities: games, bouncy castle, henna tattoos, nature workshops, face painting… A complimentary lunch is also provided, turning the day into a memorable adventure.
This thoughtful initiative allows parents to run with peace of mind while their children experience a safe, exciting, and nature-filled day.
